Position Purpose:
As a Purchasing Manager, you will lead initiatives that contribute to the purchasing department running efficiently. You will perform people leader responsibilities, maintain various reports, and communicate with internal and external customers. A successful candidate will be able to lead the centralized buyers, identify new opportunities for customers, and collaborate with cross functional teams to add value for all our customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities:
  • Motivate and mentor a group of centralized buyers.
  • Lead projects focused on company and department goals.
  • Lead customer centric improvement projects supporting various Core-Mark customers.
  • Identify training opportunities within the Purchasing Department.
  • Monitor company and department KPIs.
  • Identifying inventory opportunities and proactively offering creative solutions.
  • Build strong communications with Core-Mark Suppliers, Operations, Marketing and Sales.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a wholesale/retail procurement or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years people management experience
• Minimum of 2 years Purchasing related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based programs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent business experience.
• Familiarity and working knowledge Purchasing Processes
• Experience in Convenience Channel
• Proficiency in reporting tools e.g., Power BI
• Familiarity and working knowledge of AS400 and SAP
