Our start rate for this position is $11.00 per hour, with a $0.50 bump at 90 days, a total $2.00 per hour pay increase over 2 years.

Reporting to work each day that you are scheduled to work is required. Understanding that you have a family and personal things to take care of, you can request time off in advance, and we will try to schedule someone to cover for your line.

General duties are selection of convenience store products into totes, stocking, cleaning, etc., 2 p.m. start time – shift ends when all customer orders are filled – you must be able to work the entire shift plus any required overtime, up to 14 hours per shift, without exception. The bus line may not be running when you get off work. Perfect attendance (no tardies, no absences, no left early) is required during the probationary period.

This is a high speed production position - speed of order selection and accuracy is required. There will be weekly order selection targets that must be met as a minimum expectation of this job. We will provide you with the training needed to be successful in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Selects product in accordance with printed customer orders.
  • Selects will-call and other special orders according to sequencing on delivery route/run list.
  • Consolidates merchandise into product containers as necessary – "Totes"
  • Clears conveyor lines and surrounding areas of all extraneous inventory. Directs such stock to storage area or dry room as applicable.
  • Restocks order selection zones as necessary.
  • Restocks selecting zones and flow lines to prepare warehouse for order selection.
  • Ensures placement of product in sufficient quantities to accommodate routine and/or special demands.
  • Maintains clean, orderly workstation; returns supplies and merchandise to assigned locations and cleans work area at end of shift.
  • Performs all tasks in compliance with Core-Mark safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Able to work in a team environment, working in alternate positions as needed to meet team goals.
  • Able to work alternating shift times with uncertain end times.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a high speed, production-based environment, able to meet company order selection quality and speed standards using hand held computers and pick to light systems following all safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, ability to read, write and understand instructions and computerized reports and labels in English; recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers. Must be able to read product codes and information quickly and accurately. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide 3-4 digit numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Must be able to recognize malfunctions in equipment and notify Manager. Must be able to use problem solving skills. Able to adapt quickly to changes in processes/procedures.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to work 10-14 hour shifts Sunday and Monday.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand 90% of the shift (up to 12-14 hours or more per day); use hands and fingers to handle product, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms often above shoulder level, and below knee level, operate computerized devices.
  • Required to walk and stand for eight hours or more per day.
  • Occasionally required to squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
  • Heavy labor position - must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
