Position Title:

Custodian

Job Description:

As a custodian you will report to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for maintaining the the cleanliness of the Warehouse and common office areas.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Appropriate experience in similar position.
Proven ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and careful manner.
This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Collects, separates and bales cardboard boxes.
Collects all damages, non-sellable merchandise from storage areas for transfer to dry room.
Removes merchandise from beneath conveyor lines and flow racks for redressing, restocking or transfer to dry room
Collects and stores empty pallets.
Sweeps warehouse flow – uses electric scrubber/sweeper where available.
Empties all trash bins and cigarette ash receptacles.
Readies empty packing containers (boxes, totes) in picking zones for order selector.
Maintains outside packing areas and receiving docks.
Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language:

Ability to read, print, and speak simple sentences. Recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.
Must be able to read product codes and information quickly and accurately.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to stand and bend for up to ten hours. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
