We have an exciting opportunity at our Core-Mark Milton, ON Division!

We are hiring for a Maintenance Associate reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. We are located at 8030 Esquesing Line, Unit #1 Milton, ON L9T 6W3. The successful candidate will assist light maintenance work in repairs of the building, grounds and equipment.

SCHEDULE/ SHIFT

Monday to Friday Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (Longer days and weekends may be required to meet the needs of the business).

POSITIONAL OBJECTIVE

To assist in the preventative maintenance of the facility, machinery, conveyors, racking, emergency systems and power equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Routine inspections and maintenance of conveyors, machinery, racking and power equipment;
  • Ensure power equipment is functioning properly to include batteries, wheels, all safety equipment etc;
  • Inspect freezer and coolers daily for acceptable temperatures and conditions;
  • Work on assigned projects as presented by Maintenance Supervisor;
  • Responsible for AIB food safety standards;
  • Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Mechanical aptitude for hand and power tools

Strong Knowledge of tools and maintenance equipment;

PIT license an asset

Language: Ability to read, print, and speak simple sentences. Recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.

Must be able to read quickly and accurately product codes.

Mathematical: Ability to add/subtract 2 digit numbers and multiply/divide 10’s and 100’s.

Reasoning: Ability to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables. Must be able to recognize malfunctions in equipment and notify supervisors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and finger to handle objects, tolls, or controls; reach with hand and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to stand and bend for up to ten hours. The employee must regularly lift a/o move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift a/o move 25 lbs., and occasionally lift a/o move up to 60 lbs.
