Position Summary:

The Assistant Buyer will be required to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a steady focus on wholesale commodities' purchasing for Core-Mark's Kentucky and Fort Worth Divisions. The Assistant Buyer is responsible for providing purchasing services governed by the company’s purchasing policies, practices and procedures to meet the purchasing requirements of the divisions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with manufacturers/brokers on late and critical orders and communicating daily with the Buyers as to the disposition of such orders
  • Ensure accurate back up for price changes to meet full SOX compliancy
  • Code all manufacturer deal sheets with Core-Mark item numbers
  • Process all in bound orders from other Divisions
  • Investigate all claims for short shipments/ overages and issue credits/ invoices
  • Process and order special orders from Divisions
  • Generate all debits (CDU’s) for promos, late orders, listing fees, recalls and ensure all back up is SOX compliant
  • Data input for obsolete inventory
  • Set up new items and vendors
  • Perform additional projects and/or duties as assigned.

Bachelors degree preferred

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the wholesale/retail industry
