Position Purpose:

As the Chain Sales Representative, you will report to the area Sales Manager and be responsible for strategic same-store sales growth. This role will also prospect potential new account opportunities. Using Core-Mark business solutions, technology, and marketing programs to maintain and secure long-term relationships and sales growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Building & maintaining key account business relationships.
  • Presenting our Core-Mark business solutions and marketing programs to the chain decision makers.
  • In-store sales and merchandising activities, based on a set schedule.
  • Executing merchandising practices at assigned accounts, introducing new products, ensuring planograms are correctly set, and updating or replacing shelf tags as needed.
  • Providing regular activity and progress reports.
  • Developing and executing annual chain/key account sales growth plans.
  • Conducting regular business reviews with chain decision makers to grow strategic sales.
  • Uncovering new sales opportunities to increase sales within accounts.
  • Maintaining knowledge of product information, programs, and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Food Service Support Team to present Fresh and Food Service items.
  • Responding to a variety of product inquires and requests within scope of authority.
  • Working with teams across Core-Mark regarding maintenance of equipment, growth of food sales, and store sets on a continuous basis to enhance the customer experience.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree in a related field or equivalent field experience.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience and account management.
  • Ability to work in the field a majority of the time; managing reports and customer base.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation and communication skills, and industry knowledge.
  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc), specifically with data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications
